Benvenuto!

Benvenuto! Welcome!

Hello and welcome! Nice to see you!

This site is about all the things I love and experiences that I have had – a little bit of everything:

Where to go. What to cook. Where to eat. What to drink. What craft projects to create.

I have many passions – travel, cooking, entertaining, and creative projects.

I am fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time in Italy and Europe and I am often asked by friends and family what they should do or see on their trip.

I’m a huge fan of “cook once and eat twice”.

I knit years ago and recently started knitting again, which caused me to realized how much I missed the art of creating.

I like to share travel tips and other great ideas that will save you time and money and will help you find a special  memory on your own trip.

I hope you use this site to help plan your next trip, plan your next meal, or plan your next project.

Thanks for coming to visit, and I hope to see you again soon!

Viaggiare è Vivere! (To travel is to live!)

Grillmarkadurinn, Reykjavik, Iceland

On our recent trip to Iceland, we were awed and amazed by the natural beauty of the island. Everywhere you turn, there are gorgeous vistas, mountains, water (and waterfalls) and the ruggedness of a volcanic island. After a day touring around the Golden Circle and appreciating the stunning natural splendour of Iceland, we got to… Continue reading Grillmarkadurinn, Reykjavik, Iceland

Three Days in Iceland

I’m on a lot of mailing lists relating to travel. Shocking, I know. I’m probably on more than is normal or healthy. I can’t help it – it’s a great way to get travel ideas and I like seeing travel sales and spending a few moments thinking “Hmmmmm, wouldn’t that be nice?”. I’ve been dying… Continue reading Three Days in Iceland

Tea for Two, Take Two

Tomorrow is National Tea Day. This is a day that celebrates not just tea, but the tradition of sitting down and enjoying a cuppa in the company of friends. Earlier in the week, I started the celebrations early with my post about the British Afternoon Tea we enjoyed at The Goring Hotel in London. There… Continue reading Tea for Two, Take Two

Tea for Two

When you think of Britain, you think of the Queen, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, Downton Abbey and James Bond, to name a few things in no particular order. When it comes to food, the Ploughman’s lunch, bangers and mash, Gordon Ramsey, Jamie Oliver, Heston Blumenthal,… Continue reading Tea for Two

Gu-Gu-Gubbio

I know, it will be my fault if you end up singing the Phil Collins song Sussudio as you walk around Gubbio. I know I do: Gu-Gu-Gubio, whoa-oa! Besides the fact that the name is a heck of a lot of fun to say (Gu-Gu-Gubbio!), Gubbio is a stunning medieval town of steep winding walkways and… Continue reading Gu-Gu-Gubbio

AB²C Salad

Everyone is looking to increase the veggies they consume, but sometimes we fall into the same rut. Steamed asparagus, steamed broccoli – same old, same old. Salads are a great way to get more vegetables into your meals, but sometimes get boring. After spending some time in southeast Asia, a trip to the local TNT was in the… Continue reading AB²C Salad

Progressive Passionate Plates (Gaggan)

Yesterday, April 5, was one of the most anticipated days of the year for food lovers. The Pellegrino Top 50 World Restaurant list was released! A big congratulations to Gaggan Anand for his #7 worldwide ranking, not to mention an impressive third year at the top #1 Asian spot! By now, if you’re a foodie, or… Continue reading Progressive Passionate Plates (Gaggan)
