Hello and welcome! Nice to see you!
This site is about all the things I love and experiences that I have had – a little bit of everything:
Where to go. What to cook. Where to eat. What to drink. What craft projects to create.
I have many passions – travel, cooking, entertaining, and creative projects.
I am fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time in Italy and Europe and I am often asked by friends and family what they should do or see on their trip.
I’m a huge fan of “cook once and eat twice”.
I knit years ago and recently started knitting again, which caused me to realized how much I missed the art of creating.
I like to share travel tips and other great ideas that will save you time and money and will help you find a special memory on your own trip.
I hope you use this site to help plan your next trip, plan your next meal, or plan your next project.
Thanks for coming to visit, and I hope to see you again soon!

Last year, I said goodbye to winter with the “Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring Salad” . This year I’m… Continue reading Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad with Pecans and Cranberries
Last week in advance of both St. Patrick’s Day and Italian Unification Day, I extolled the virtues of Amaro and listed 5 entry level Amari and 5 advanced level Amari to try. Now that you have ventured into the bitter world, here are some cocktails to let your digestives do double duty and bookend your meal.… Continue reading #Get Bitter – Amaro cocktails
I have a confession, I have never met a potato I didn’t like! Maybe it’s from being half Irish on my mother’s side. Who doesn’t like potatoes? I love potato chips, Tuesday, March 14 is National Potato Chip Day. What?! National Potato Chip Day?!!! Yes! This is a day that I can totally get behind!… Continue reading Baked Potato Chips with Blue Cheese Dip
Next week, there is going to be a lot of celebrating. Whether you’re raising a green pint to say SLÁINTE and cheer St. Patrick’s Day (March 17) or raising a glass of wine to say SALUTE for Italian Unification Day (also March 17 – both events, same day!), toasts will be made and glasses will… Continue reading Amore Amari
I’m sick of winter. I hate cold weather. Nothing is worse than when the weather is horrid outside and you don’t want to leave your house, but you still have to make dinner. Ugh! This Italian recipe is great for a cold winter day. It’s really more like a chickpea and pasta stew. It’s thick… Continue reading Pasta e Ceci (Chickpea Pasta)
Sssshhhhh! Don’t tell a s(e)oul, but I’m going to let you in on a little secret we discovered during a recent trip. In Seoul, hidden behind not one, but two doors, lies a secret speakeasy. I’m not kidding, this feels like an honest to goodness speakeasy in downtown Seoul! As with any speakeasy, it is… Continue reading Secret Seoul Speakeasy
What do you need when you realize that it’s still winter and there is still snow/slush/cold or a damp bite in the air? Winter comfort food! What is better than a beefy pot pie or a beefy barley soup when the weather outside is less than thrilling? Oxtail pot pie and oxtail barley soup! Remember… Continue reading Oxtail Reboot – Pie and Soup
